INTERNSHIP SUMMARY:

The Knowledge Management and Innovation intern (KMI) Intern will provide support to
several ongoing knowledge management projects and support the implementation of new activities under the guidance of the Assistant Representative/Head of Programmes.

The KMI Intern will support internal learning opportunities for staff to ensure they are up to date on the current literature, have access to internal and external resources, and are active participants in communities of practice and other knowledge sharing groups.

You would be responsible for:

  • Providing support to monitor trends and new developments in the political, social and
    economic environments relevant to sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender
    equality, and population and development in a selection of middle-income countries;

  •  Supporting the CO in hosting knowledge management training, learning events
    monthly brown bag (internal learning sessions), and scheduling webinar series to
    share knowledge and products of the work done by UNFPA and other partners
    working with UNFPA

  •  Summarising statistical information by creating graphs, tables and charts, particularly
    related to the monitoring and evaluation of knowledge and change management
    projects.
  • Assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of technical
    cooperation programmes focused on sustainable financing to strengthen national
    development planning frameworks;

Your Education:

  • Applicants to UNFPA’s internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the
  • following requirements:
  • Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or

  • higher) in a recognised university;
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as
  • bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in a recognised university;
  • Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (A) and (B) above)

  • from a recognised university and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year
  • of graduation;
  • Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship programme in a recognised
  • university and undertake the internship as part of this programme.

Other Eligibility Requirements:

  • Demonstrate interest in the field of development;
  • Demonstrate written and spoken proficiency in English;
  • Demonstrate ability to adapt to new environments and to establish and maintain good
  • working relations with individuals of different cultural backgrounds.

  • An individual whose father, mother, son, daughter, brother or sister is a UNFPA staff
  • member is not eligible for an internship with UNFPA. Your Experience:
  • Strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Language requirements: Fluency in English;
