The main purpose of a Trainee Warehouse Manager is to manage all the staff in the Warehouse to ensure that daily targets are met. To ensure that operations pertaining to dispatching, picking,checking and packing are managed and relevent policies and procedures are complied with

Job Objectives

  • Manage Staff
  • Daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper staffing to respond to work demands in a productive, cost effective and timely manner

  • Responsible for training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Conduct meetings every morning to ensure daily goals are met

  • Ensure staff productivity by placing staff in all relevant areas
  • Perform personnel administration when necessary
  • Responsible for warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe work environment ensuring that safety related procedures are followed and all equipment is properly functioning and maintained

  • Ensure productivity
  • Direct supervision of the day-to-day activities in the warehouse to ensure that work gets done.
  • Check reports on the system hourly and immediately take appropriate action if necessary

  • Receive and analyse reports to ensure accurate picking/checking takes place
  • Compile and complete daily report for Management
  • Walking the floor
  • Walk through the Depot and monitor all production
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean Warehouse and doing investigations and enforces all warehouse systems processes and procedures

Qualifications
Matric

  • Logistic/Management qualification advantageous

Experience

  • 3-5 years experience working in a Distribution Centre
  • 2-3 Supervisory experience
