We have an amazing opportunity for 2 x Graphic Design Team Leader. Do you think you have what it takes to be our newest Purple Star?

To handle all design requirements from conception through to delivery by allocating workflow based on skill set, deadlines, and priority amongst the design team. The graphic design team leaders will be tasked with the responsibility of overseeing multiple portfolios within the design pods.

This will include mentoring of designers and working closely with the Senior Graphic Design Team Leader, and the design traffic coordinator. The team leaders will also be responsible for representing the Design team at meetings with clients and feeding back to the rest of the Design team.  expectations of our customers

You Bring:

  • 5+ years in a design related position

What You’ll Do For The Brand:
 

  • Oversee the design team.
  • Oversee look and feel as well as quality for all work generated from the department.
  • Liaison between designers and other departments for all design job requests as well as ensuring the brief is adequate to start the job with all information on deadlines and scope covered.

  • Coordinate design work coming in with a job ticket system and allocate jobs accordingly (Traffic management).
  • Create processes and systems within the department as a whole.
  • Conduct team member Performance reviews.
  • Identify skills gaps and suggest learning and development training in the areas that require attention.
  • Conduct weekly team member/team Leader meetings.

  • Oversee design progress against schedule, priority, brief, and deadlines. Provide feedback and seek any missing information from the job requestor, in order to complete the job.
  • Attend and participate in campaign meetings to understand the artwork required from the design team and to allocate it and brief team correctly.
  • Have control measures in place to ensure that design requests are reasonable.

  • Review draft designs against briefs to ensure that any small errors are corrected before sending and getting feedback from the requestor.
  • Coordinate and control design submittals for the requestor’s review and approval.
  • Ensure that the brand guide and brand standards as well as legal requirements are adhered to at all times.
  • Implement corrective measures for identified distractions or issues causing delays.

  • Oversee and maintain order and standard processes of design files and stock library.
  • Manage the job ticket list, providing reports on the amount of jobs processed and information on time frames to complete the various jobs.
  • Assist designer on special research and technical projects. Develop interns and junior designers.

  • Assign design champions in the department and maximise the various design strengths in the team.
  • Check with end supplier the specs required for the job to be saved and ensure designers follows these specs as so it is print-ready.
  • Keep up to date with design trends, training courses or webinars as well as seminars relevant to the department’s growth.
