University of the Free State is currently holding an exciting opportunity for a Plummer Apprentice, based in Bloemfontein, Free State

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems across the university campus.
  • Learn and apply plumbing codes and regulations under the guidance of experienced professionals.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and troubleshoot plumbing issues.

  • Work closely with senior plumbers to develop hands-on skills in the field.
  • Participate in training programmes and courses to enhance technical knowledge and proficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Use hand tools and equipment proficiently.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.

Inherent requirements:

  • Candidate must be based in Mangaung and studies/studied locally.
  • Completed the required coursework at an accredited institution.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing tools and equipment.

Recommendations:

  • Experience with plumbing, although not essential.

Salary:
Salary /Stipend

  • WIL students: R3,500/month.
  • Apprentices or interns in possession of an N3 certificate: R3,500/month.
  • Apprentices or interns in possession of an N6 certificate: R4,500/month.

  • Apprentices or interns in possession of a National Diploma: R5,500/month.
  • Apprentices or interns in possession of a Bachelor’s degree or a higher qualification: R6,500/month.
