The Human Resources Section (HRS) at UNV drives organizational performance by delivering strategic HR initiatives, developing talent, and designing services that attract, motivate, and retain highly skilled personnel. Within HRS, the Capacity Development team is responsible for designing and delivering learning programmes for UN Volunteers globally, spanning online courses, webinars, workshops, and coaching initiatives.
Role Overview
The Clerk in Capacity Development plays a vital support role in administering UNV learning and coaching programmes. Reporting to the Learning Analyst, the clerk will collaborate with the Capacity Development Team and the Volunteer Solutions Section to ensure smooth implementation of learning initiatives. Responsibilities include supporting the UNV Coaching Programme, managing communications with certified coaches, tracking volunteer-coach interactions, and assisting with webinars and online workshops in multiple languages including English, French, and Spanish.
Key Responsibilities
UNV Coaching Programme:
- Support the onboarding, engagement, and communication of certified coaches offering pro-bono coaching to UN Volunteers.
- Disseminate learning and communication materials, including newsletters, guidance notes, and micro-learning videos.
- Track volunteer-coach matching and maintain registration data for reporting purposes.
- Assist in monitoring dashboards, coaching systems, and quarterly report submissions.
UNV Learning Helpdesk:
- Provide first-line support for UN Volunteers on learning platforms, online courses, and training processes.
- Respond to queries via SalesForce, assisting with platform navigation, enrollment guidance, and troubleshooting.
- Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate service providers and follow up for resolution.
- Support enrollment on external learning platforms and maintain FAQs and templates for a potential chatbot integration.
- Assist with compiling and analyzing data on helpdesk queries to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Learning Portfolio Delivery:
- Provide logistical support for online workshops and webinars.
- Manage participant communications, reminders, and follow-ups in multiple UN languages.
- Collect and compile feedback and participation data to improve learning programmes.

Required Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or secondary education with three years of relevant work experience.
- Experience:
- Supporting global coaching/mentoring programmes.
- Coordinating virtual workshops and webinars.
- Familiarity with Moodle or other learning management systems.
- Proficiency in using computers and AI-assisted tools for administrative tasks.
- Previous exposure to UN or international development environments is preferred.
- Experience serving as a UN Volunteer or maintaining rosters and trackers is desirable.
- Languages: Fluency in English and either Spanish or French.
