The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) is a key statutory body responsible for regulating the country’s electricity, piped-gas, and petroleum pipeline industries. Established as a juristic person under the National Energy Regulator Act, 2004 (Act No. 40 of 2004), NERSA operates under the mandates of the Electricity Regulation Act (2006), Gas Act (2001), and Petroleum Pipelines Act (2003). The regulator ensures the safe, reliable, and cost-effective supply of energy while promoting transparency, accountability, and consumer protection across the energy sector.

NERSA is governed by a council of nine members, including four full-time and five part-time members, and is supported by a secretariat under the leadership of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). 1. Financial and Market Analyst – Petroleum Pipelines and Tariffs

Reference: HR02/26
Salary Package: R652,858 – R939,971 per annum (CTC)

The Financial and Market Analyst will play a critical role in evaluating petroleum pipeline operations, tariff structures, and market trends. The successful candidate will support strategic decision-making and contribute to NERSA’s mandate of maintaining efficient and fair pricing mechanisms in the energy sector. Analytical skills, financial modelling, and industry knowledge will be essential for success in this role.


2. Facilities Manager – Supply Chain Management and Facilities

Reference: HR03/26
Salary Package: R652,858 – R939,971 per annum (CTC)

The Facilities Manager will oversee the effective management of NERSA’s physical assets, office environments, and logistical operations. This role ensures the smooth functioning of facilities in line with organisational standards and operational needs. Candidates should possess strong organisational, planning, and team management skills, as well as experience in facilities operations within a professional or public sector environment.


3. Office Administrator – Office of the Chief Executive Officer

Reference: HR04/26
Salary Package: R304,422 – R457,476 per annum (CTC)

The Office Administrator will provide critical administrative support to the CEO’s office. This role involves coordinating meetings, managing documentation, handling correspondence, and ensuring the efficient operation of the executive office. Strong organisational, communication, and administrative skills are required to excel in this position.


4. Departmental Administrator – Finance and Administration

Reference: HR05/26
Salary Package: R292,374 – R394,962 per annum (CTC)

The Departmental Administrator will support the Finance and Administration division by managing records, coordinating departmental processes, and assisting with reporting and compliance functions. This position is ideal for candidates with strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support multiple operational tasks efficiently.
