Become a Faith & Ocean Advocate: Communications Catalyst & Executive Associate Opportunity
Faiths for Oceans is seeking a Communications Catalyst & Executive Associate to drive global faith-based ocean advocacy. Work remotely, shape narratives, coordinate campaigns, and amplify the voices of faith communities protecting the oceans.
Faith communities have long inspired action, but their influence extends far beyond spiritual guidance. Across the globe, faith leaders actively steward coastlines, advocate for environmental policies, divest from harmful industries, and mobilize communities for sustainable action. Recognizing the extraordinary potential of these communities, Faiths for Oceans, a campaign supported by Save Earth Now LLC, is seeking a Communications Catalyst & Executive Associate to help amplify faith-based ocean advocacy in 2026.
This part-time role, which is home-based with occasional international travel, offers a rare chance to combine strategic communications, storytelling, and environmental advocacy to drive meaningful global impact.
Faith Communities Making Waves
In June 2025, the global environmental and faith sectors witnessed a historic milestone. More than 300 faith organizations, representing over half a billion people, united to deliver Turning the Tide, the largest multi-faith declaration for ocean action, directly to UN leadership. Leaders from Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, and Sikh traditions stood together at the UN Ocean Conference in Nice, signaling a shared moral imperative: protecting the oceans is not optionalโit is sacred.
The campaign, Faiths for UNOC3, created a blueprint for interfaith environmental advocacy, providing comprehensive faith-policy resources in multiple languages, activating faith voices for ocean advocacy, and offering a model for long-term faith-based environmental campaigns.
The Role: Amplifying Faith for Ocean Action
2026 marks a pivotal year for ocean protection. The High Seas Treaty has entered into force, nations are reporting on their 30×30 marine protection commitments, and international summits on climate and biodiversity provide platforms for faith voices. This is where the Communications Catalyst & Executive Associate comes in.
The successful candidate will translate strategy into stories and action, crafting narratives that resonate with faith communities, policymakers, and global audiences alike. They will coordinate communications at key ocean and biodiversity moments, ensuring that faith voices are central in shaping policy and mobilizing global action.
