  • 10% Classroom-based learning and formal training

Fields of Training for the 2025/2026 Intake

ABB is currently seeking candidates in the following engineering disciplines:

Electrical Engineering (P1/P2 Students)
Participants will gain exposure to the testing of switchgear across primary, secondary, modular, and commissioning stages. They will work with both electrical and mechanical designs of switchgear systems, developing a strong understanding of power distribution technologies and industrial electrical systems.

Mechanical Engineering (Apprenticeship – N5 to N6 Graduates)
Apprentices will be introduced to design principles, drafting processes, and the mechanical and electrical workings of electric motors. This provides a foundation in industrial machinery, maintenance practices, and electromechanical systems.

  • Minimum academic average of 65% throughout studies
  • South African citizenship
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and innovative thinking
