Every year, the Internet Society selects a cohort of just 15 young, passionate innovators to join its prestigious Youth Ambassador Program—a transformative platform designed to build the next generation of leaders in Internet governance. Who Can Apply?
The program is designed for young leaders aged 18–30 with a passion for shaping the digital future. Applicants must:
- Demonstrate strong English reading, writing, and speaking skills
- Be comfortable communicating ideas publicly
- Have reliable, continuous Internet access
- Commit to at least 4 hours per week during the 12-month cycle
- Be available for webinars and weekly meetings between 11h and 16h UTC
- Be able to travel and hold a valid passport
- Not have participated in previous Internet Society ambassador or youth fellowship programs

The Selection Process: A Fair and Rigorous Journey
Each application goes through a comprehensive two-phase selection process:
Phase 1: Online Application Review
A diverse committee—comprising Internet Society staff, alumni, and global community leaders—reviews applications without demographic identifiers. Candidates are evaluated based on:
- Alignment with the Internet Society’s mission
- Demonstrated community engagement
- Experience in policy, advocacy, or Internet-related initiatives
- Potential to contribute to global and local Internet governance
Phase 2: Online Internet Governance Course
The highest-scoring candidates enter an intensive online course on Internet governance. They are divided into three classes, each guided by a dedicated tutor.
Upon completion, the 15 top-rated participants are selected as the new Youth Ambassadors.
