Applications officially open on 17 September 2025, with the next fellowship cohort beginning in May 2026. This life-changing program is designed for passionate individuals committed to building a sustainable future through eco-innovation, community engagement, and global collaboration.
🌱 About the Fellowship
The beVisioneers: The Mercedes-Benz Fellowship is an international program designed and implemented by The DO School Fellowships and funded by Mercedes-Benz. Since its launch in 2023, the fellowship has equipped thousands of young people around the world with the knowledge, tools, and resources to create impactful environmental projects.
The fellowship is built around a 12-month intensive program, followed by long-term community engagement and mentorship. Participants receive award-winning innovation training, hands-on project guidance, and access to a global network of experts and mentors — all while developing leadership and entrepreneurial skills needed for the green economy of tomorrow.
🚀 Who Can Apply?
The beVisioneers Fellowship seeks individuals who embody ambition, creativity, and dedication to solving environmental challenges.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Aged 16 to 28 years old.
- Currently residing — and planning to remain — in one of the participating countries during the fellowship.
- Have a strong oral and written command of English.
- Possess a passion for sustainability, innovation, and problem-solving (previous entrepreneurial experience is not required).
This fellowship is ideal for students, young professionals, activists, and innovators eager to take their environmental ideas from concept to implementation.
🧭 The Application Process
The beVisioneers application process is designed to identify ambitious, inventive, and purpose-driven individuals. The process consists of three sections and takes about 30–40 minutes to complete.
Step 1: Written Application
Applicants provide:
- Basic personal and contact details.
- A statement outlining their environmental passion and proposed idea.
- Details on their learning and financial support needs.
- A brief self-assessment test.
- A scanned copy of their passport or national ID.
Step 2: Video Interview
Candidates record a three-minute video interview directly on the application platform, describing the environmental issue they care about and how they plan to solve it.
⚠️ Note: Applications without a recorded video interview will not be considered.
Step 3: Optional Financial Support Application
Applicants seeking financial assistance must complete an additional section that includes:
- A reference from an employed, non-family member confirming their personal circumstances.
- An income declaration, detailing accurate and complete information about their monthly income sources.
This transparent and inclusive process ensures that every applicant is evaluated based on potential and passion, not financial background.
💡 What Fellows Receive
Once selected, each Fellow embarks on a transformative, multi-year journey that begins with a 12-month intensive phase. The fellowship requires a commitment of at least 24 hours per month and includes:
- Award-winning innovation training through interactive online learning modules.
- Local Hub gatherings to foster collaboration and peer support within communities.
- Regional Summits for global networking and exposure.
- 1:1 mentoring sessions and venture coaching from sustainability experts.
- Access to a supportive global community of like-minded changemakers.
At the end of the first year, Fellows become eligible for project scholarships of up to €20,000 to advance their environmental initiatives.
Graduates continue to engage with the fellowship’s long-term community network, further strengthening their leadership skills, scaling their projects, and inspiring others to take action.
