Applications are open for the 2026 Big Bets Fellowship: Africa. A transformational leadership program supporting bold African innovators advancing systems change in energy, health, food systems, markets, and policy.

Introduction

The world is watching Africa. As the youngest and fastest-growing population on Earth, the continent stands at the center of global transformation. With immense talent, innovation, and resilience, Africa is shaping the future of sustainable development, economic growth, and community-driven progress.

In support of this momentum, the Big Bets Fellowship: Africa (2026 Cohort) has officially opened applications. This prestigious program, backed by The Rockefeller Foundation, is designed to empower visionary African leaders who are driving bold, systemic change across communities. By focusing on leaders solving urgent regional and global challenges, the fellowship aims to create catalytic, scalable solutions that expand opportunity for all.

A Transformational Fellowship for a Better Future

For years, the Big Bets Fellowship has stood at the forefront of global leadership development. The program equips changemakers with the mindsets, skills, and networks they need to reimagine systems, influence policy, and implement innovations that improve lives at scale.

Each fellowship cohort brings together a diverse group of interdisciplinary leaders who challenge the status quo — entrepreneurs, policymakers, scientists, activists, community organizers, and innovators committed to driving sustainable and inclusive change.

In 2026, the fellowship will focus exclusively on African leaders, reflecting a deep belief in the continent’s potential to shape global solutions.
