The Internship Opportunity

Set to commence in 2025, the UNAIDS Internship Programme invites motivated individuals to join the organization in either a remote or in-person capacity, depending on the division’s needs. The internship duration varies from 2 to 6 months, providing flexibility for students or recent graduates to fit this valuable experience into their academic or professional timelines.

Who Can Apply?

The internship is open to individuals enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate degree programs at recognized educational institutions. Recent graduates who completed their studies within the past year or those who will start their internship within 12 months of graduation are also eligible. Candidates must be at least 20 years old at the time of application.

To support their participation, UNAIDS may offer a stipend to help cover living expenses, but only for candidates who are not already receiving financial support.

Locations and Work Arrangements

Internships may take place at various duty stations worldwide, offering diverse cultural and professional experiences. Depending on the division’s requirements and circumstances, internships can be conducted either in person or remotely.

Additional Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 20 years of age at the time of application.
  • Have proficiency in at least one of UNAIDS’s official languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish).
  • Have a current enrollment or recent graduation status from a recognized educational institution.
  • Not have immediate family members employed by UNAIDS.
  • Not previously participated in UNAIDS internship programs.
