The Position: Technical Advisor – Green and Blue Growth
This role focuses on providing high-level technical guidance and support to three UNOPS Mission Hubs dedicated to tackling the triple planetary crises, supporting Small Island Developing States (SIDS), and strengthening food systems. The advisor will leverage expertise to enhance knowledge management, facilitate innovative solutions, and promote best practices in green and blue growth within these critical areas.
Key objectives include:
- Enhancing understanding of effective approaches to green and blue economy initiatives.
- Supporting knowledge production, including case studies and foresight analyses.
- Facilitating collaboration, peer learning, and knowledge exchange across hubs.

Responsibilities and Tasks

- Supporting the identification, development, and documentation of case studies that analyze successful interventions and lessons learned.

- Facilitating ideation workshops and discussions to develop innovative solutions and scalable approaches.
- Organizing and supporting cross-hub knowledge sharing events and peer learning exchanges.

Educational Background:

Professional Experience:
- Over 7 years of progressive experience in providing technical advisory services related to green and blue economies.
- Proven success in developing and analyzing case studies, extracting lessons, and applying foresight techniques.
- Experience in facilitating workshops, developing innovative solutions, and scaling up impact.
- Familiarity with issues related to climate change, biodiversity, ocean health, and sustainable resource management.
- Experience working with the United Nations or other international organizations is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of knowledge management practices and partnership development is an asset.
- Ability to work effectively across diverse cultural contexts and multidisciplinary teams.
Languages:
- Fluency in English is required.
- Additional UN languages such as French or Spanish are considered assets.
