Ideal Candidate Profile
The internship is tailored for individuals with a keen interest in global development and governance. Candidates should possess:
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a flexible mindset eager to learn.
- Experience or interest in issues like accountability, inclusiveness, and effective governance.
- Excellent communication skills, including editing, visual design, and social media content creation.
- Knowledge of web publication tools and photo editing software is a plus.
- Familiarity with the political and bureaucratic landscapes of Norway or the Global South is advantageous.
- Prior work experience with international organizations, research institutions, or in countries of the Global South is highly desirable.
Educational and Language Requirements
Applicants should meet one of the following criteria:
- Enrolled in the final year of a bachelor’s degree (preferably in social sciences, data science, psychology, or related fields).
- Enrolled in a postgraduate program (master’s or higher) in relevant disciplines.
- Recently graduated (within one year) from such programs.
- Enrolled in postgraduate professional traineeship programs incorporating this internship.
Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of additional languages, especially Norwegian or languages relevant to the Global South, is an asset.

Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend, with other costs borne by the intern or sponsoring institutions. Importantly, this internship is designed to complement academic pursuits, and there is no guarantee of further employment with UNDP post-internship.
