About The International PRIDE Centre
Launched in 2024 and hosted by ICVA, The International PRIDE Centre is a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to ensuring that the needs of individuals with non-traditional Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE) are recognized and integrated into emergency responses. Focusing initially on six pilot countries in Africa, the Centre aims to foster protection, rights, and inclusion at the heart of humanitarian action.
Governed by a Strategic Advisory Board and supported by a dedicated team of four, the Centre works in close partnership with local organizations and stakeholders. Its mission is to combat homophobia, transphobia, and anti-LGBTQIA+ discrimination while advancing inclusive aid practices.
