Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the National Project Officer and Regional Coordinator for Central Macedonia, the Project Assistant will undertake a variety of important duties, including:

  • Team Coordination: Oversee the project team, ensuring tasks are completed smoothly and deadlines are met.
  • Communication Management: Ensure accurate and high-quality messaging to beneficiaries via the project helpline, and develop monitoring tools to evaluate communication effectiveness.
  • Administrative Support: Perform general administrative tasks to facilitate project implementation, aligning with organizational procedures.
  • Methodology and Tools Development: Create and oversee the implementation of tools, materials, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and effective project management.
  • Documentation and Data Management: Support the flow of working documents, monitor project deliverables, and maintain an organized archive of data and verification materials.
  • Financial and Resource Monitoring: Assist senior management with budget monitoring, resource analysis, and report preparation for audits and financial reviews.
  • Additional Duties: Perform any other responsibilities as assigned to support project success.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates interested in this role should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A high school diploma with at least three years of relevant work experience or a university degree in finance, management, public administration, or related fields from an accredited institution. A Master’s degree is considered an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of relevant professional experience, preferably within multicultural environments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in standard computer applications and familiarity with administrative procedures.
  • Languages: Fluency in both English and Greek, in writing and speaking, is essential. Knowledge of IOM’s official languages—French and Spanish—is an added benefit.
  • Other Skills: Strong work ethic, commitment to humanitarian principles, and, if available, a valid driver’s license with at least five years of driving experience.
