Position Overview

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is seeking a dynamic and skilled Digital Content Analyst to join its innovative team in Geneva. This is a fixed-term, two-year contract position within the Office of the Deputy Director General, Patents and Technology Sector (PTS). WIPO, as the global leader in intellectual property services, policy, and standards, aims to promote innovation and creativity worldwide. The newly established Patents and Technology Sector (PTS) Digital Content team plays a vital role in developing and disseminating user-centric digital content across multiple channels. Their mission is to manage PTS’s web presence effectively and produce compelling digital materials—such as articles, blogs, infographics, and multimedia content—that resonate with diverse audiences and amplify WIPO’s initiatives in technology and patents.

Role and Responsibilities

The Digital Content Analyst will be at the forefront of WIPO’s digital outreach, responsible for developing, implementing, and managing content strategies tailored to the Patents and Technology Sector’s goals. The incumbent will work closely with internal teams—including communications, marketing, and web communications—to ensure that digital content is engaging, accurate, and aligned with organizational priorities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and executing comprehensive digital content strategies that support PTS initiatives and foster increased online engagement.
  • Conducting market research and gathering insights from various internal stakeholders to ensure messaging is consistent, audience-focused, and impactful.
  • Creating high-quality digital content—such as articles, blog posts, social media updates, and infographics—that are optimized for various platforms, including the PTS website, social media channels, and newsletters.
  • Applying SEO best practices to improve the visibility and searchability of digital content, regularly reviewing and updating existing materials.
  • Analyzing web traffic, social media metrics, and user interactions to evaluate content effectiveness, providing regular reports with insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Acting as a liaison across WIPO divisions, ensuring brand consistency and alignment of messaging across all digital platforms.
  • Engaging with audiences on social media platforms, encouraging community participation, and monitoring industry trends to identify new content opportunities.
  • Providing training and guidance to staff on content creation and digital engagement strategies.
  • Supporting the management of digital campaigns and initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet objectives.
  • Staying informed about new digital technologies and best practices in content management and communication.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates should possess:

  • A first-level university degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Technology Management, or a related field.
  • At least six years of relevant experience in digital content creation, digital strategy, or online communications, preferably within an international or multicultural environment.
  • Experience with multimedia production, graphic design, and project management is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of web analytics tools, content management systems, and social media platforms.
  • Proficiency in SEO strategies and content optimization.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with the ability to craft clear, engaging messages for diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and adaptability to new technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across teams in a multicultural setting.
  • Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of French and other WIPO languages is an advantage.

  • Salary: Approximate total annual salary of USD 116,315, including net salary and post adjustment (subject to change based on the UN/UNESCO rate).
