Job Description:

Office/Unit/Project Description:

This section provides background information on the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and its role in sustainable development. It highlights the importance of the Global Policy Network (GPN) and the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support (BPPS) in providing technical expertise and policy guidance.

Crucially, it introduces the Sustainable Finance Hub (SFH), established by UNDP to mobilize investment in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SFH aims to direct significant public and private capital towards sustainable development and promote impact integrity.

The core focus of this position is supporting the Taskforce on Inequality and Social-related Financial Disclosures (TISFD). This is a global, multi-stakeholder initiative dedicated to creating a framework for reporting and managing risks, opportunities, impacts, and dependencies related to inequality and social issues. The TISFD involves a diverse group of participants, including investors, businesses, labor organizations, civil society, policymakers, and academics.

The TISFD framework is expected to be developed over three years (until late 2027). The Taskforce Secretariat is responsible for coordinating the Taskforce’s activities, engaging with stakeholders through various governance bodies (Alliance, Knowledge Partners, Regional Councils), and interacting with the public. This Engagement Analyst position will be part of this Secretariat, working primarily virtually.

Scope of Work:

The Engagement Analyst will play a vital role in building and maintaining relationships with TISFD stakeholders and the broader public. The key responsibilities are outlined in four main areas:

  1. Build the TISFD Alliance: This involves actively engaging with current and potential members of the TISFD Alliance (a key stakeholder group). Responsibilities include responding to inquiries, coordinating outreach, managing applications, contributing to the review process, onboarding new members, and ensuring they feel welcomed and informed.
  2. Set up and maintain stakeholder management systems: This is a crucial operational function. The analyst will be responsible for implementing and managing a contact management system, specifically using HubSpot CRM. This involves maintaining an accurate database of stakeholders, tracking engagement using CRM insights, and utilizing Mailchimp for communications like newsletters.
  3. Manage TISFD global events planning: The analyst will be involved in the logistical coordination of TISFD events, both virtual and in-person. This includes preparing for events, coordinating technology setup, scheduling calls with speakers, managing RSVPs, facilitating smooth event execution, and tracking relevant data to inform future outreach.
  4. Provide operational support on day-to-day engagement activities and knowledge sharing: This covers a range of essential tasks. The analyst will conduct due diligence on potential partner organizations, manage the TISFD inbox (responding to emails), draft newsletters, coordinate with the team to develop materials for stakeholders, take meeting minutes, and document best practices and lessons learned.

Institutional arrangements:

The Engagement Analyst will report directly to and be supervised by the Executive Director of the TISFD’s Secretariat within UNDP’s Sustainable Finance Hub.

  • Min. academic education:

    • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in the same fields combined with an additional two years of relevant experience (totaling 4 years) will be considered.
  • Min. years of relevant work experience:
    • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree, or 4 years with a Bachelor’s degree.
    • The experience should be in stakeholder management, engagement, communication, event planning, and/or coordination within the public, private, or non-profit sectors.
  • Required skills/experience:
    • Proficiency in using standard computer software like MS Word and Excel.
  • Desired additional skills/ experiences: These are skills and experiences that would be beneficial but are not strictly mandatory:
    • Experience working with multi-stakeholder initiatives.
    • Experience working with the private sector and/or civil society on corporate sustainability.
    • Proven project management skills, including tracking tasks and timelines.
    • Experience in designing and managing stakeholder tracking systems (e.g., Excel, HubSpot, Salesforce).
    • Experience in planning and executing events.
    • Experience in writing reports, newsletters, and memos for senior stakeholders.
  • Required Language(s): Fluency in English is mandatory.

Travel:

This is a home-based position, so no travel to a specific duty station is required. Any necessary travel for work-related activities, as determined by UNDP, will be covered by UNDP according to their travel policy.
