Internship Overview

This flexible, remote internship is designed to give interns substantial responsibilities and exposure to the field of global health. Interns will engage in diverse tasks such as researching and writing articles on critical health issues, establishing contacts with health and development NGOs worldwide, assisting in the planning and organization of international conferences, and supporting fundraising and outreach activities. The internship structure allows for personalized research projects aligned with both the intern’s interests and WFPHA’s strategic priorities.

Throughout the internship, participants will develop a comprehensive understanding of key global health challenges and the network of organizations working to address them. WFPHA’s official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO) and its extensive international network offer interns exceptional opportunities for professional networking and collaboration with leading health experts and organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on pressing topics related to international health, health equity, and sustainable development, and produce well-crafted articles and reports.
  • Establish and maintain professional contacts with global health and development NGOs, fostering potential collaborations.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of international conferences, webinars, and other events.
  • Contribute to fundraising and outreach initiatives by supporting communication campaigns and donor engagement activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the successful delivery of projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to update on progress, exchange ideas, and refine strategies.

Qualifications and Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Enrolled in or recent graduate of a Master’s or Bachelor’s program in International Relations, Public Health, Global Development, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) is a plus.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills; fluency in additional languages is an advantage.
  • Strong research and writing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within a multicultural, international environment.
  • Proactive attitude, resourcefulness, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.

Compensation and Benefits

Please note that this internship is unpaid. WFPHA does not provide financial support for relocation, visas, or other travel-related expenses. However, interns will gain invaluable experience working on impactful projects, expanding their professional network, and developing skills in international health advocacy.

Internship Duration and Work Schedule

The internship is scheduled to commence on September 1, 2025, with a minimum commitment of three months. Interns can choose to work either part-time or full-time, depending on their availability and academic commitments.
