Position Overview
The internship is based in Jakarta Pusat and is specifically open to candidates applying from within the duty station. Under the guidance of the Humanitarian Programme Analyst, the intern will assist in key activities related to humanitarian coordination, documentation, and information sharing with various stakeholders involved in reproductive health, gender-based violence prevention, and women’s empowerment.
What Will the Intern Do?
The internship involves a diverse set of responsibilities tailored to build skills and deepen understanding of UNFPA’s work:
- Coordination Support: Assisting in planning and organizing meetings for the Reproductive Health (RH), Gender-based Violence (GBV), and Women’s Empowerment Sub-Clusters. This includes preparing logistical arrangements and materials for both virtual and in-person gatherings.
- Documentation and Reporting: Drafting and finalizing accurate minutes of meetings, maintaining updated calendars of events, and supporting the preparation of reports.
- Information Management: Updating contact lists, activity trackers, and maintaining online platforms and shared drives to ensure seamless information flow among partners at both national and sub-national levels.
- Communication & Outreach: Supporting the dissemination of updates, key information, and resources to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and consistency across all materials.
- Additional Support: Providing logistical assistance for events, workshops, and other activities, along with performing any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Throughout the internship, the candidate will participate in online training sessions on critical topics such as Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Reproductive Health, and Gender-Based Violence in Emergency Settings, further enriching their knowledge and skills.
Who Should Apply?
Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from a bachelor’s degree program in fields like Public Health, Data Science, or Computer Science. Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in development issues, particularly in humanitarian contexts involving women and vulnerable populations.
Key qualifications include:
- Enrolled in or recent graduate of a bachelor’s program with at least two years of study completed.
- Proficiency in English, with good communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to new environments and work effectively with diverse teams.
- Demonstrated interest or involvement in volunteer activities, student organizations, or initiatives related to PSEA, reproductive health, or GBV in emergencies is highly valued.
- Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English; additional languages are considered an asset.
