Organizational Unit Overview
The Telecommunication Standardization Bureau (TSB) operates under the auspices of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and plays a critical role in promoting global telecommunication standardization. The TSB’s mandate is to provide comprehensive secretariat support, facilitating the work of various study groups focused on technical, operative, and tariff matters within the telecommunications sector. This collective effort aims to harmonize telecommunications and information technologies on a worldwide scale. The TSB operates in accordance with directives established during the World Telecommunication Standardization Assemblies (WTSA) and the input from the Telecommunication Standardization Study Groups and Advisory Group.
At the helm of the TSB is a Director, elected to guide the Bureau towards achieving its goals, supported by an administrative framework that provides the necessary technical, logistical, and operational resources to effectively conduct its assemblies and meetings.
Department Overview
Within the TSB, the Strategic Engagement Department (SED) is charged with executing the Bureau’s outreach and marketing initiatives. SED champions community engagement and innovative partnerships and is responsible for implementing cutting-edge initiatives, including an annual AI for Good Global Summit, which focuses on leveraging emerging technologies for beneficial societal impacts. Additionally, the department oversees collaborations with academic institutions and is responsible for the ITU Journal, a periodical that explores research topics within the telecommunication and ICT sectors.
Terms of Reference
As an Audio/Visual Content Intern, you will have a pivotal role in supporting the AI for Good team by producing visual content that enhances our initiatives and events. Your responsibilities will include:
- Photography: You will assist in capturing high-quality photographs during our events, documenting key moments and highlights to enrich our video content.
- Video Production: You will help with filming, editing, and creating video materials that showcase AI for Good activities, spotlight innovative AI technologies, and document major events such as the AI for Good Global Summit 2025 in Geneva.
- Content Development: Support the creative development of video concepts and scripts that align with our communication strategies. Your work will encompass various formats, including promotional videos, highlight reels, interviews, and short-form content tailored for social media platforms.
- Editing and Post-Production: Utilize industry-standard video editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, Lumen5, Canva, or similar software to edit and finalize video content. Ensure that all content adheres to high standards of quality and consistency with our branding.
- Digital Strategy Support: Collaborate with the communication team to formulate content strategies designed to boost engagement across diverse digital platforms. You will assist in optimizing video content for various outlets, including social media, official websites, and newsletters.
- Administrative and Logistical Support: Provide organizational assistance for shoots, liaise with speakers and team members, and manage digital files and archives related to content production.

Candidates should possess the following competencies:
- Proficiency with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, or Lumen5.
- A genuine passion for photography and the art of storytelling through visual media.
- An active interest in artificial intelligence and its capacity to foster positive changes in society.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail, capable of handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- A creative mindset with a proactive approach, eager to learn new techniques and contribute innovative ideas to video projects.
- A comfort and adaptability in a dynamic, multicultural, and international working environment.
Qualifications Required
- Education: Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate from a degree program in photography, communication, journalism, marketing, public relations, or a related discipline.
- Experience: No prior working experience is necessary; this position is aimed at individuals looking to gain practical exposure.
- Language Proficiency: Advanced level of English is required. Proficiency in another UN language, particularly French, is advantageous.
Remuneration Information
This is an unpaid internship.

Please be advised that an unpaid internship within the ITU does not equate to the employment benefits associated with short-term or fixed-term positions. It is the intern’s responsibility to secure mandatory medical insurance and cover all travel, accommodation, and living expenses related to their internship.
