The Organisation
Plan International is proudly recognized as an independent development and humanitarian organization that champions children’s rights and strives for gender equality. Our mission is rooted in the belief that every child holds inherent power and potential, yet these qualities can be suppressed by multidimensional adversities such as poverty, violence, exclusion, and discrimination. Since our establishment over 85 years ago, Plan International has taken a stand for children’s rights, working in more than 80 countries across the globe. We engage with children, young people, supporters, and partners to forge a just world by addressing the root causes of the challenges faced by girls and vulnerable children. Our work is not limited to advocacy but extends to supporting children throughout their journey from birth to adulthood, equipping them to cope with crises and adversity.
Through our relentless efforts, we advocate for change in practice and policy at local, national, and global levels, leveraging our extensive reach, experience, and knowledge. We believe that the world can only achieve true equality when every child, irrespective of gender or circumstance, has the right to thrive.
