Fully Funded: Z Zurich Foundation Scholarship 2025
About the Scholarship
The Z Zurich Foundation is dedicated to creating brighter futures for vulnerable people by focusing on prevention as the cornerstone of its initiatives. Recognizing the urgent and complex nature of the challenges faced by communities today, the foundation has structured its efforts around three critical pillars: adapting to climate change, improving mental well-being, and enabling social equity. These interconnected issues not only affect individual lives but also reverberate throughout communities and society at large, highlighting the importance of a comprehensive approach to problem-solving.
Our Mission and Commitment
At the heart of the Z Zurich Foundation’s mission is a deep commitment to helping disadvantaged communities adapt to an ever-changing climate. The foundation strives to build a global community advocating for the mental well-being of young people, equipping them with the skills, education, and resources they need to realize their full potential. The belief that real change stems from genuine connections underpins the foundation’s work. By fostering relationships between those with the knowledge and resources and those who are most in need, the Z Zurich Foundation actively seeks to amplify voices advocating for change and to tackle societal challenges from the grassroots level.
The foundation’s commitment to empowering impactful leaders is exemplified through its support of the One Young World Summit, the world’s most international gathering of young leaders. The Z Zurich Foundation Scholarship 2025 will enable 25 young leaders engaged in prevention-focused mental well-being projects, adaptation-focused climate resilience initiatives, or efforts aimed at promoting social equity through education, employability, or entrepreneurship solutions to participate in this pivotal event.
The One Young World Summit 2025 will take place in Munich, Germany, from November 3 to 6, providing a platform for young leaders to network, share ideas, and collaborate on innovative solutions for pressing global issues. If you are a young leader advocating for any of these causes, this scholarship may be the perfect opportunity for you!
Focus Areas
The Z Zurich Foundation is eager to identify and support young leaders who are actively driving grassroots initiatives for vulnerable communities in one or more of the following critical areas:
1. Climate: Adapting to Climate Change
Climate change poses a monumental challenge, and initiatives that focus on community adaptation and building climate resilience are paramount. This focus area seeks to transform behaviors and systems to safeguard communities from the effects of climate change. Scholars working in this field will engage in projects that emphasize sustainable practices, innovative solutions for environmental challenges, and strategies to empower communities to adapt effectively to changing conditions.
2. Mental Well-being: Improving Youth Mental Well-Being
Mental well-being is a pressing concern for young people globally. Initiatives in this area aim to promote emotional well-being and prevent mental health issues among youth. Applicants will showcase their ability to create environments that foster healthy emotional development while identifying and mitigating risk factors associated with mental health conditions. By focusing on prevention and promotion, scholars will work towards building resilient mental health frameworks within their communities.
3. Equity: Enabling Social Equity
Barriers to education, employment, and entrepreneurship must be dismantled to create a more equitable society. This focus area supports initiatives that provide young people with the necessary resources, knowledge, and skills to unlock their potential. Scholars will share their experiences driving programs that enhance educational opportunities, improve job readiness, and foster entrepreneurial endeavors, ensuring that disadvantaged communities are better positioned to thrive.
