Internship Benefits:
A stipend may be provided to help cover living expenses for interns, but this is available only to candidates who are not already receiving any financial support. Who Can Apply?
To qualify for an internship at UNAIDS, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Enrollment in an undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate degree program at a recognized educational institution, OR completion of such studies with an awarded degree within the last year. Recent graduates are expected to start the internship within twelve months of their graduation date.
  • Candidates must be at least twenty years old by the date of application.
  • A solid working knowledge of at least one of the official languages used by WHO/UNAIDS (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish) is necessary for the position.
  • Eligibility is limited to those individuals who do not have immediate family members working in the UNAIDS Secretariat and who have not previously participated in the UNAIDS internship program.

It is crucial to note that the United Nations HIV/AIDS Personnel Policy ensures no discrimination against staff or candidates based on real or perceived HIV status.
