Bridgestone is recruiting for an OTR Repair Technician based in Potgietersrus, Limpopo

OTR Repairer
The Person The person will ideally lead by example, capable of working with minimum
supervision. He will be capable of performing some administrative duties,
appreciate his role in delivering customer service, possess common sense and
initiative, demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop his skills and knowledge.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
• Grade 12 National Certificate
• A valid and appropriate light vehicle driver’s licence (South African Code
08) Good communication skills and customer service skills
• Ability to work for extended hours and physically fit
• Sound understanding of the working mechanism of the tools or the
machinery they are handling
• Look after the maintenance of the equipment
• Expert written communication skills, good supervisory skills and ability to
pay attention to the details
• Three years of Earthmover tyre fitting experience
• Must have an excellent safety record and a strong commitment to safety
Preferred:
• OTR service training and certifications
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and
maintenance.
• Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors
or other problems or defects.
• Ability to recognize and used a variety of tools, including but not limited to
power tools, and heavy duty tyre service equipment.
Reports to Site Supervisor
Duties The following is a general list of tasks that a person in this position is required to
perform. The Company may add to or vary these duties from time to time
provided the variation is reasonable having regard to the Employee’s skills,
competence and training.
• Comply with Otraco Management System (OMS) policies, procedures and
• instructions
• Perform inspections and determine if tyres should be scrapped, repaired or
remain in service
• Mount and strip any type of tyre and wheel/rim assembly according to
procedures
• Repair tyres and tubes according to procedures
• Operate machinery and equipment according to procedures
• Present himself in a condition fit to perform his duties,
• All aspects of repair shop work required by the customer
• Ensuring that all equipment is maintained and in good working order by
conducting daily maintenance checks and coordinating repair work as
required
• Ensure that all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner as per the
job priorities outlined by the customer.
• Providing timely and accurate documentation of service work performed.
This will include a weekly inventory count.
Safety OTR Repairers are required to:
• Ensure that all personnel work safely and follow Occupational Health and
Safety Procedures
• Ensure that all personnel comply with site “lock out” / “tag out” procedures
• Investigate hazards, unsafe work conditions and equipment reported and
take action to eliminate or reduce the risk to acceptable levels
• Investigate and report all incidents and injuries according to procedures
• Comply with applicable instructions documented in the OMS Safety Plan
• Use and maintain Person Protective Equipment according to procedures
• Perform equipment pre-start checks according to procedures
