Description
The General Assistant maintains site facilities including cleaning of buildings and offices.
Technical Work Responsibilities
- Cleaning and general maintenance services
- Boardroom preparation for meetings
- Beverage-making services
Duties
- Maintain the premises
- Clean all allocated site offices and restrooms
- Preparing of tea and coffee for guests and visitors at Aurum Institute
- Prepare boardrooms for meetings
- Conduct approved maintenance
- Distribution and record keeping of consumables
- Record and report all maintenance required to the Operational Manager onsite
- Provide recommendations on cleaning products and consumables
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
- Identify own developmental needs and provide recommendations
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures according to prescribed legislation
- Report all unsafe activities to Corporate Operations Manager/Director Corporate Operations
- Adhere to decision making procedures
Education
- Grade 12
Advantageous
Prior cleaning experience (highly preferred)
Experience
6 months to 1 year experience of general office hygiene services and maintenance in a corporate environment
Requirements
- Confidentiality
- SA Citizen or valid work permit to work in South Africa,
- Knowledge of basic office etiquette
- A high standard for cleanliness
- Advanced cleaning skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision
- Physical stamina
- Excellent listening and communication skills, including clear speech
- Establish effective and trusting work relationships
- Must have social skills and be a team player, performance oriented, and self-motivated
