Key Responsibilities
• Define the regional sales strategy to cascade and monitor delivery of sales objectives in line with business strategy, financial objectives, Group guidelines and policies.
• Lead, oversee and control strategic activities and initiatives with significant impact on overall results.
• Communicate position and vision/strategy aspiration to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Act as a thought leader in the market.
• Drive market acquisition and retention strategies in order to maximize sales growth in the region and optimize profits.
• Drive customer retention, business growth and profitability by supporting customer strategies.
• Define improvement areas based on management reporting.
• Analyse the value of key technologies and industry development and identify change needs of the function within in the region.
• Establish appropriate processes and infrastructure to support growth, sales performance and optimize resource utilization.
• Support key customers and drive collaboration and cross selling activities in the region such as CSI, GoTrade and other similar initiatives.
• Steer systems for monitoring competitive activity and dissemination of information and best practices to relevant parties.
• Oversight of function’s implementation and monitoring of adherence to sales governance and compliance policies
• Formulate and roll out mechanisms to ensure sales performance management reporting.
• Direct and approve major sales strategy and development projects.
• Analyse complex issues extensively and conceptualize improvements / changes in sales methods and techniques.
• Deliver innovation that directly influences the way the function is contributing to a profitable business.
• Negotiate and authorize critical agreements / contracts, changing terms and conditions significantly where required.
• Drive strategies that align to global ESG goals
• Contribute to broader business and cross functional issues within the African Management Board
• Lead, direct, coach and develop performance of the regional sales team.
• Drive talent development, succession planning and talent retention in the function.
• Drive continuous improvement in employee engagement in the function across the region.
• Active supporter and participator in CIS programs.
Management Responsibility
• Lead the SSA Regional Sales team of senior directors, directors, senior managers, and managers
• Leadership for the SSA wider regional sales function including Head of Sales in country
• Ensure appropriate talent selection, organization and leadership for major areas of the organization
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelors degree (or Masters) preferred
