Duration: 15 Month Contract
The SAMRC is extending an invitation to graduates to apply and participate in an internship program at the Biomedical Research and Innovation Platform.
The unit is in need of six (6) interns who are suitably qualified and experienced in end-to-end biopharmaceutical manufacturing. The interns will be responsible for providing technical and administrative support to various projects, including the training of students.
Learning Outcomes:
- Facilitation of training protocols
- Teaching support
- Technical support in laboratories
- Research report writing
- Organization and management of data
Core Requirements:
- BSc or Honours degree in microbiology or biochemistry (or related degree)
- Understanding of biopharmaceutical manufacturing
- Experienced in laboratory techniques including tissue culture, PCR, and western blots
- Hands-on experience with fermentation culture and up- and down-stream processing
- Some short-term experience in a related industry
Advantageous:
- Certification in biopharmaceutical manufacturing
