SANParks Organisation requires the services of an Officer: Payroll in the Human Capital Management department. This position will be based at Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria.

Requirements
- Have a Diploma in Human Resource Management / Payroll.
- Have relevant experience in HR Administration and payroll systems.
- Minimum of 2 – 5 years experience working within the payroll environment.
- Proficient with payroll software specifically Sage 300 people.
- Knowledge of payroll regulations/processes.
- Pay attention to detail.

- Thorough understanding of payroll-related labour and tax laws.

Responsibilities
- Review information on the payroll system to ensure all information is accurate and up to date.
- Ensure employees are linked to the correct primary positions and hierarchy structure.
- Maintain employee records and ensure that they are correctly filed.
- Ensure terminated employee files are kept in accordance with record-keeping policies and procedures.
- Close payroll off on time with 100% correct data.
- Handle all payroll queries.
- Quality assuring the work of HCM clerks.
- Process all payroll input for earnings, deductions, company contributions, and fringe benefits exactly as per the instruction document.
- Run payroll checks and balances before administration/ supervisors check the payroll. Ensure that payroll deadlines are met on a monthly basis.
- Import\generate reports on overtime worked and other allowances as per payroll instructions submitted.
- Quality assurance information is captured by HCM Clerks where applicable.
- Assist with the distribution of variance reports and other reports required by line management/supervisors.
- Processing of school fees and hostel claims.
- Process all miscellaneous input for deductions and external stakeholders such as garnishees, insurances and other stakeholders in accordance with policies and procedures including statutory requirements.
- Link new employees to ESS and correct leave setup.
- Compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages and reporting on this.
- Track employee working hours.
- Link new employees to ESS and correct leave setup.
- Work closely with the benefits unit to ensure monthly changes are done correctly and each change is accompanied by an instruction document.
- Assist with processing of employee transfers/promotions within the organisation and transfer of leave policy setup and hierarchy setup to the new entity.
- Respond to queries relating to payroll activities on an ongoing basis.
- Stay up to date with any labour or legislative changes.
- Part and distribute payslips and IRP5s for employees in Paterson A-C band for employees with no access to Sage 300 people.
- Prepare compensation checks, and respond to employee questions about wages and deductions.
- Stay up to date with any labour or legislation changes.
- Partake in the training initiatives.
- Ensure the Bi-Annual review process is completed and signed off with the supervisor
- Assist with audit-related queries and ensure compliance at all times.
- Assist with providing support to the HCM Clerks with payroll-related functions.
- Process payment for long services awards.
Salary
R279,174.17- R455,991.11
