JOB OVERVIEW

Illovo Sugar South Africa invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to apply for the 2024 Graduate Trainee Programme.

Closing date: 18 January 2024

This is a 24-month opportunity.

ILLOVO SUGAR AFRICA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Associated British Foods plc (ABF), a diversified international food, ingredients, and retail group operating in 52 countries.

As Africa’s biggest sugar producer, we have extensive agribusiness operations in six African countries, manufacturing sugar and downstream products from cane supplied by our own agricultural operations and independent local growers.

Illovo Sugar South Africa invites applications from previously disadvantaged groups for GRADUATE TRAINEE positions in the following disciplines:

  • Corporate Affairs
  • SHERQ
  • Industry Affairs
  • Trade Marketing

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

CORPORATE AFFAIRS

  • Completed ND in Public Relations/Communications Science/ Journalism
  • Computer Proficiency in MS Office
  • Good Interpersonal Skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to support key stakeholders within the business
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Key Culture Attributes: Demonstrates the importance of safety, quality & teamwork; effectively leads and communicates because our people matter

INDUSTRY AFFAIRS

  • Completed Bcom Law / LLB
  • Computer Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Computer Proficiency in MS Office (other accounting packages would be an advantage)
  • Good Interpersonal Skills
  • Strong research and report writing skills
  • Key Culture Attributes: Demonstrates the importance of safety, quality & teamwork; effectively leads and communicates because our people matter

SHERQ

  • Completed bachelor’s degree in Safety management/ Environmental Management/ Food Science/
    Biotechnology/Risk Management/ Quality Management
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Computer Proficiency in MS Office
  • Good Interpersonal Skills and communication skills
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Key Culture Attributes: Demonstrates the importance of safety, quality & teamwork; effectively leads and communicates because our people matter

TRADE MARKETING

  • Completed a Degree in Marketing or equivalent
  • Ability to support key stakeholders within the business
  • Good Interpersonal Skills
  • Key Culture Attributes: Demonstrates the importance of safety, quality & teamwork; effectively leads and communicates because our people matter
