South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) is recruiting and invites applications for the 2024 Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Bursary Programme.

Closing date: 22 December 2023

Applications for the SACAA BURSARY PROGRAMME are open for the following fields of study: AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING TRAINING.


The South African Civil Aviation Authority is the civil aviation authority of South Africa, overseeing civil aviation and governing investigations of aviation accidents and incidents.

It is headquartered in the Ikhaya Lokundiza Building 16 in Waterfall Park, Midrand, near Johannesburg. SAAA is a Schedule 3A public entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).

It was established on 1 October 1998, following the enactment of the now repealed South African Civil Aviation Authority Act 40 of 1998.

The SACAA is taking applications for the above-stated career opportunity.


  • South African citizen
  • Must be between the ages 18 – 35
  • Pure Maths Level 5
  • Physical Science Level 5
  • English Level 5

All SACAA appointments are subject to S98 of the Civil Aviation Act, 13 of 2009 and all successful candidates will be subjected to security vetting. Employment Equity candidates will be prioritised in line with Employment Equity Plan.
