BURSARY STUDY FIELDS

Candidates are invited to apply for a Bursary opportunity that are offered by the Company in the following disciplines:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mining Engineering
  • Financial Services
  • Extraction Metallurgy

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this opportunity, you will meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12.
  • Minimum of a 6 symbol for Mathematics and Physical Science and as per institution requirements for engineering fields.
  • Minimum a 5 symbol for Mathematics and Physical Science for technical fields.

  • Academic requirements need to be an average year mark of 60% and above for 2nd or 3rd year students.
  • A CV with your Grade 12 Certificate or latest academic results from the University if you are at University.

  • Preference will be given to applicants residing in the local communities where Glencore Coal Operations South Africa are located- proof of residence to be submitted with application.
  • Non-affiliated students applying should /cannot be affiliated with other organisations or currently supported by a private institution.

  • Preference will be given to Coloured, Indian and African females and people with disabilities.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to interviews.

WHAT THE BURSARY COVERS

The Bursary covers the following

  • Tuition fees.
  • Meals and accommodation.
  • Prescribed textbooks.
  • Payment of any compulsory excursions or seminars, which may be required. • Personal allowance.
