BURSARY OVERVIEW
KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport, Arts and Culture invites applications for the 2024 Bursary support programme.

The Department of Sport, Arts & Culture is offering bursaries to students who are residents of KwaZulu-Natal interested in pursuing a tertiary qualification in the fields of study which are considered as “critical & scarce skill” within the Department.
BURSARY STUDY FIELDS AVAILABLE
Bursaries will be awarded within the following fields of study as indicated below:
- National Diploma: Jewellery Design & Manufacture
- National Diploma: Video Technology
- Bachelor Of Applied Arts: Screen Arts & Technology
- Bachelor Of Arts: Film & Television Production (Animation. Cinematography)
- National Diploma: Translation & Interpreting Practice (Sign Language And Interpreting
- Post Graduate Diploma: Archives & Records Management
- Post Graduate Diploma/ Honours Degree: Museum Studies (Majors In Restoration & Conservation)
- National Diploma in Fashion Design
ELIGIBILITY/ WHO CAN APPLY?
- Youth in a possession of matric/grade 12 certificate between the age of 18-35 years, and who are from the KwaZulu-Natal Province.
- Students in a possession of provisional accepted letter from public institution of higher learning and willing to study in the fields indicated above.
- Students who are currently studying in the areas indicated in this advert.
HOW TO APPLY
To apply, please submit copies of the following documents:
Bursary application form (this is obtainable and retained to offices of the Department of Sport, Arts & Culture, Public Libraries, Website of the Department, Departmental social media platforms and Funding offices at HO’s).
Original Certified copies of Identity Document (ID) including your parents ID and /or your guardians ID.
Original Certified copy of Matric/ grade 12 certificate or current statement of results if you are currently studying.
Proof of income of either Parents or guardians (payslip, pension payout, letter from SASSA or bank statement all not older than 3 months).
Proof of registration / conditional/acceptance letter from institution of higher learning
Proof of unemployment obtainable from the Department of Labour for both parents if they are unemployed or an affidavit from both parent/ legal guardian stating that they are unemployed.
Proof of Residence
It is recommended that those who have profiling certificates or report should submit a certified copy.
