BURSARY OVERVIEW
Silulumanzi, a subsidiary of South African Water Works (SAWW), invites applications for the Bursary Programme 2024.
Closing date: 15 December 2023
Upon completion of their studies, students are required to join the organisation as Interns for a duration equivalent to the number of years & sponsored.
ABOUT SILULUMANZI
On a daily basis, Silulumanzi provides the delivery of approximately 120 million litres of safe drinking water to satisfy the thirst and needs of approximately 400 000 people within the City of Mbombela Local Municipality.
Silulumanzi is a subsidiary of South African Water Works (SAWW), a proudly South African Water utility that has been entrusted to render water services to the City of Mbombela under a 30-year concession contract.
Silulumanzi first commenced business in 1999 and has a proud track record in excess of 20 years in the water industry. We employ first world expertise gleaned from its former international shareholders (Sembcorp, Cascal and BiWater).
Over the years Silulumanzi grew and gained from its international links and ensured the development of skills at a local level to have a management team and shareholders that are today 100% South African.
ABOUT THE SILULUMANZI BURSARY PROGRAMME
Silulumanzi invites students/undergraduates who are interested in joining the Water Industry to apply for our External Bursary Scheme in the study fields mentioned below:
- BSc Electrical Engineering (heavy/light current)
- BSc Chemical Engineering
- BSc Civil Engineering
- BSc Mechanical Engineering
- BSc Information Technology
- BSc Quantity Survey
- BSc Biology
- ND Environmental Science
- ND Environmental Science
- ND Water Care
- Fitting including Machinery.
- Millwright
- Fitter and Turner
- Instrumentation Mechanical
REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 with a Bachelor Pass.
- Level 6 pass in Mathematics and Science
- Proof of admission acceptance to a South African accredited tertiary Institution.
- Proof of residence.
Preference will be given to:
- Previously disadvantaged individuals.
- People with disabilities and females.
- South African Citizens within the contractual concession areas (Mbombela city/ Nelsprult, KaNyamazane,Telcwane, Matsulu, KaMagugu, Msogwaha, Daant)le, Zwelisha, Mpakenl, Luphisi, and Mattafin) where Silulumanzi operates.
WHAT THE BURSARY COVERS
Sponsorship covers the following:
- Registration fees
- Tuition tees
- Accommodation fees
- Prescribed books and or study material
Other information to note:
- Bursaries will be awarded strictly on academic merit.
- The bursary is renewable annually, based on academic performance
