ABOUT SEKHUKHUNE DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY
Sekhukhune District Municipality (SDM) was established in December 2000. It consists of four Local Municipalities, namely Elias Motsoaledi, Ephraim Mogale, Fetakgomo Tubatse, and Makhuduthamaga.
Sekhukhune is an area with a long and proud history. It is also a place of majestic beauty with regal mountains, lush valleys and meandering rivers.
Under the soil lie vast deposits of precious metals – so vast that they today contain the largest reserves of platinum group metals in the world. Above its soil sprout more than 2200 indigenous species of vascular plants, making Sekhukhune an area of exceptionally high-biodiversity that is globally recognized.

The Sekhukhune District Municipality is one of the 5 districts of the Limpopo province of South Africa.
SUMMARY OF CORE FUNCTIONS
- Perform efficacious fire services and respond to fire and rescue incidents in and out of the area of jurisdiction.
- Perform special services as notified;
- Perform humanitarian services, respond to all emergency incidents;
- Ensure effective and efficient fire preventative strategies;
- Ensure inspections of fire equipment.
- Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time to time by relevant seniors in the District.
- Must be able to handle stressful situations, must not be claustrophobic,
- Must not be altophobic.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12, Firefighter I course, or equivalent to Firefighter I course;
- Hazmat Awareness;
- First Aid Level 3 and Medical Test NFPA 1582
- No criminal record.
EXPERIENCE
- 1-year relevant operational experience
- Code EB Drivers Licence will be an added advantage.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
- Local government legislations
- The incumbent will also be expected to have good interpersonal relations and communications skills
