MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
- Grade 8 or ABET Level 3
- Certified competent as a Loader Operator
- At least 1 year experience as a loader driver or 6 months acting experience as a loader driver
- Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
- Clear security screening record.
ADVANTAGEOUS QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 10 or equivalent
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Loading of ore on to hoppers Ensuring operational activities and product at ‘Zero Tolerance’ safety compliance by: • Checking availability and utilisation of P.P.E., specialised tools and equipment • Attending daily safety meetings. • Complete daily loader checklist & report defects. • Conducting pre-work inspection of work area • Barring and inspection of work area. • Ensuring installation and operation of required safety devices. • Complete daily loader checklist. • Report defects.
- Safe transportation of loader. • Adherence to transport safety procedures. • Loco signalling system.
- Checking of oil level • Check for oil and air leaks • Check and replace worn slings • Check and replace leaking air hoses • Clean loader at end of shift. • Inspecting loader by using appropriate checklist
- Maintain and comply with SHE standards within the work environment. • Participate in risk assessments and investigate and take appropriate action as per identified risks. • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.• Focus on safety and health as well as operational excellence
- Hand Eye Coordination • Confidently work in confined spaces. o Ability to correctly identify top and bottom motor, vane and piston driven, bucket, controls, slings, lubricator, kingpin, centralizing unit, axles and wheels and clutch.
