Job Purpose
The purpose of the Supervised Diamond Handler is to progress goods through all production departments and sight management processes, ensuring deadlines and schedules are met by carrying out a range of administrative and system tasks.

JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities include:
- Operate and perform user functions across the various processes, computer systems and machinery used within the area to carry out core tasks.
- Declaring and check weighing shipments ensuring accuracy via correct use of scales.
- Performing make up of goods during pre and post Quality Checks.
- Splitting of cut offs, reconciliation of job sheets and Samples on a daily base.
- Reconciling of Valuations at end of cycle.
- Packing and reconciliation of shipment post viewing.
- Merging and collating sight boxes and weighing post KAM layout as final elements of Sight Preparation.
- Performing sight front office brief casing; hatch; invoicing; packing and dispatch functions ensuring that client exports are carried out with complete accuracy and within the agreed timeframes.
- Performing post Sight and stock management functions that includes processing of return boxes, resorts, sizing and splitting of goods to return to the layouts, admin work, assisting other areas as and when required.
- Accurately capture and complete all required process data.
- Ensure that all tasks are performed in a safe manner and according to organisational SHE standards. Escalate and report all non-compliances to Senior Production Controller or Audit, depending on the anomaly’s nature.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Grade 12 with Mathematics, English and one other official language.
- Successful completion of trainee programme at the Diamond Academy.
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to adhere to policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of the DBSSSA pipeline and the relationship between the various departments will be gained during training.
- Previous experience in a production/team working environment will be beneficial.
- Data driven mindset.
- Data collection (production and non-production data such as safety observations, near hits)
