OVERVIEW 

National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) and W&RSETA invite unemployed youth to apply for the Skills Programme 2023.

Closing date: 25 August 2023

Programme location: All provinces 

ABOUT NYDA

The mission of the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) is to mainstream youth issues into society and facilitate youth development with all sectors of society.

The NYDA’s activities could be summarised as follows: lobbying and advocating for integration and mainstreaming of youth development in all spheres of government, the private sector and civil society;

initiating, implementing, facilitating and coordinating youth development programmes; and monitoring and evaluating youth development intervention across the board and mobilising youth for active participation in civil society engagements.

ABOUT THE SKILLS PROGRAMME

NYDA has partnered with the Wholesale & Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) to provide opportunities to unemployed youth across ALL PROVINCES. 

This skills programme is aimed at providing Short-Term Entrepreneurial skills to local informal traders (retail and wholesale businesses only) and micro enterprises through skills development. 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be between the ages of 18-35 years.
  • Must submit certified Matric certificate.

  • Must submit certified Identity document.
  • Must be Unemployed and not currently involved in any skills programme.

  • Must be available for the duration of the programme (Full 6 Months)
  • Must be in wholesale and retail business. 

A webinar for questions and answers sessions will be on the 22nd August 2023

PLEASE NOTE: Applicants who do not meet with the above-mentioned requirements will not be considered. 

No late application will be accepted after the closing date. Applicants from disadvantaged communities and designated areas are encouraged to apply.

Informal traders and micro enterprises across all 9 provinces are encouraged to apply for the Short-Term Entrepreneurial Skills programme.
