Job Description:
School of Tourism and Hospitality develops future-fit leadership for the Tourism and Hospitality by providing both high quality programme offerings as well as facilities which host functions and events.
The Kerzner Unit is one the commercial facilities which provides services and contributes to the high quality teaching and learning environment which the students are exposed to.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Event/Function coordination
- Issuing, maintaining and filing of contracts
- Client Liaison
- Maintenance and updating of guest database
- Answering phone calls and reply to emails
- Assist with general administration
- Driving event space utilization to optimal level
- Driving revenue and able to do forecasting
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma or Certificate (NQF 6) in Hospitality or related field
- 3 Years’ experience in Hospitality Industry
- Experience in Event/Function coordination
- Extensive and proven competence in and knowledge of the following computer programs: MS Word, Excel, Internet and email (Ms Outlook), Micros and Opera
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to prioritize workload and to work under pressure and after hours if required
- Ability to work unsupervised

- Meeting deadlines and timeframes in relation to issuing of contracts

Recommendation:
- Experience working within the hospitality industry
