Transnet is recruiting and invites applications for the vacant post of Flagman x3 posts at the Port of Durban.
POSITION TITTLE: Flagman X3
REPORTING TO: Site Supervisor
LEVEL: L2
CONTRACT DURATION: 01 June 2023 to 31 March 2026
LOCATION: Port of Durban

Job Purpose:
- On track protection,
- Safeguarding of employees and trams
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum Grade 9 and / or 3 months relevant experience
- Physically fit, (Undergo medical examination and be declared fit for duty)
- Be alert and safety conscious
- Be able to communicate in English
- Be able to work under adverse weather conditions
- Be prepared to work extended hours on short notice
- Be willing to relocate or work outside your designated depot.
- Be able to work in confined spaces & at heights
- Be prepared to engage in physical labour.
- Health and Safety conscious
- Be prepared to work on noise environmental area.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist with basic maintenance and testing of flagman equipment
- Be prepared to learn usage of equipment
- Carry out all tasks as set out by the Supervisor/Team Leader.
- Be punctual and must be of sober habits
- Handing, loading and offloading material.
- Must be able to use hand tool (non-mechanised) in the construction environment.
- Cleaning of tools
