Plant Design and Project Services (PDPS) is recruiting and invites applications for the Engineer-in-Training Programme 2023.

PDPS is a multi-discipline engineering design and construction company located in Secunda, Mpumalanga.
PDPS has been providing a comprehensive range of technical, engineering, maintenance, construction and project management services to clients and project houses in selected market segments which include the power generation, chemical and petrochemical industry.

Requirements
- Qualified Mechanical Engineer: BEng (Mechanical)
- 60% average during academic tertiary studies (advantageous)
- 0-1 Years experience
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to think practically whilst complying with technical requirements (codes and client specifications)
- Ability to multi-task, organise and prioritize work
- Excellent communication and people skills (co-workers as well as clients)
- Hardworking and committed
- Enthusiastic about engineering and ready for a challenge
- Secunda area based (working from PDPS offices in Secunda)
The role
The successful candidate will be joining the mechanical engineering department based in Secunda, typically starting in mid-year 2023.
Our daily tasks can include anything from a site visit to scope a project or to take measurements, checking of drawings, perform repair designs for equipment with failures, new designs for equipment, writing technical engineering requirements documentation, project management all the way through to assistance on site during construction and project execution.
The scope of the equipment covered within the mechanical engineering department is almost unlimited as it varies from complex heat exchangers and pressure vessels, tanks, safety equipment and devices, special piping, pumps, chutes, structures to special tools and trolleys.
