Scaled Impact: Paid Internship Programme 2023

Nonprofit organization Scaled Impact invites applications from qualifying students for the paid Internship Programme 2023.

Scaled Impact is a project developer and strategic advisory company based in Johannesburg and Berlin.

We are a not-for-profit social enterprise. Founded in 2016 we have a series of projects across Southern Africa that we are managing to prove concept, attract funding and take to commercial scale.

Our projects are selected to:

• Drive economic empowerment across Southern Africa
• Link small scale and emerging farmers to large scale markets
• Implement circular economy managerment and methods
• Develop transparent and effective supply chains

We also advise several large companies and government departments on issues of development strategy.

We are looking for a small number of interns to join us in April 2023 for twelve weeks. They will work on specific prajects conducting strategic analysis, business model develapment and marketing activity.

We are a small tearm so there will be good senior exposure, working with experienced managers. It also means being able to work independently without continuous oversight.

Our approach is highly applied. Staff working with us will work on real world problems creating and applying commercial solutions that create jobs in very poor areas, raise household incomes and create sustainable socially-oriented companies.

The people we are looking for are:

• Highly motivated and driven by wanting to make a social contribution
• Self-motivating and able to work without great direct oversight

• Commercially aware. Some understanding of business, trading and marketing is valuable
• Have some knowledge or experience in emerging markets and ideally Sub-Saharan Africa

• Able to write with a good grasp of Microsoft Office products, mainly Word and Excel
• Fluent in English

These are full time paid positions. Location is flexible and remote working is possible.
