SABC: 2023 Internship Programme (On Air Creatives)
The SABC News and Current Affairs division is recruiting and invites applications for 2023 Internship Programme (On Air Creatives).

Main purpose of the position:
To market and promote news and current affairs radio content through audio and visual material or to generate new audio or visual material in order to produce products that promote on air interest that is in line with the branding of the Channel.
Key Accountabilities:
- Conceptualize the campaign idea in line with briefs.
- Write a promo script.
- Pre-production planning i.e. cut the clips and source music, book voice over artist and studio time, copy translations.
- Coordinate production of promos i.e. all radio promos are recorded in studios.
- Send recording to the line manager for editorial approval.
- Submit promos to the spotter for broadcasting.
- Send booking form to the scheduler for broadcasting.
- Ensure compliance with SABC policies and procedures and the Copyright Act
- Adhere to high quality and production standards.
- Provide input in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Adherence and compliance with the organisational policy and procedure.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Research content in order to produce quality programmes for viewers and target audiences.
- Brainstorm and discuss story ideas, angles and sources with executive producer and team members
Requirements:
- National Diploma/ Degree in Video Technology, Journalism or Media Studies or equivalent qualification (NQF 6/7)
- High quality content/promos and other on-air elements
- Ability to work under pressure and for long irregular hours.
- Knowledge on Video editing software will be an added advantage.
- Computer literacy is essential
