AFGRI invites suitably qualified candidates currently enrolled for a National Diploma seeking experiential training to apply for the 2023 Work Integrated Learning Programme.

The successful candidates will be placed at our Vasfontein Farm in Pretoria North.

Trainees will have an opportunity to acquire all-round work experience by fulfilling various duties and responsibilities relevant to the department.

The following in-service trainee opportunities are open for applications;

  • National Diploma: Agriculture (Crop Production)
  • National Diploma: Agriculture (Animal Production)
  • National Diploma: Agriculture (Irrigation Systems)  

Requirements

 KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Work with a cross-functional team to complete a Work Integrated Learning project as assigned by your Line Manager.

  • Attain on-the-job work experience aligned with your qualification and career aspirations.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
  • Support teams in project work.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be registered or intends to register for relevant qualification in 2023 with a reputable institution of higher learning in South Africa.

  • Should require WIL to complete qualification (P1 and P2) – academic record and letter confirming requirement for Work Integrated Learning from education institution must be attached to the application.

  • Have not worked full time (more than 1 year) in their field of study.
  • Should be based in the city of hire.
  • Good grades will be a strong advantage.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME

  • Successful candidates will be enrolled on a 12-month fixed-term contract for an internship.
