The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is inviting recent graduates to apply for the 2023 Field Data Collection Supervision Internship.

About the job:
The CSIR has Internship opportunities in the Smart Mobility Cluster within Smart Society division. The incumbents will be responsible for collecting, storing, processing data and conducting field work.
The incumbents will be expected to travel from time to time. This position is based in Pretoria.
Key responsibilities:
- Supervision of data collection activities, which includes field work;
- Verify collected data by each team member before submitting for storage;
- Conduct basic data validation and data analysis through technology;
- Conduct desktop research and literature search;
- Write reports and present data collection statistics;
- Ensure data privacy and compliance to the PoPI act.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
- A National Diploma in Office management, transport management, Civil engineering or related fields;
- Basic understanding of road safety issues in South Africa;
- A driver’s license and ability to drive is Essential (driving test will be conducted);
- End-user computing and knowledge of MS Office packages Essential;
- Data capturing skills (Minimum twenty wpm typing speed)
- Data management proficiency and basic understanding of PoPI act;
- Ability to work independently as well as in an interdisciplinary team;
- Problem-solving, solution-seeking orientation;
- Good communication, presentation and writing skills.
