The Road Accident Fund (RAF) is hiring and invites applications for a range of job vacancies that have arisen.

RAF provides compulsory cover to all users of South African roads, citizens and foreigners, against injuries sustained or death arising from accidents involving motor vehicles within the borders of South Africa.

This cover is in the form of indemnity insurance to persons who cause the accident, as well as personal injury and death insurance to victims of motor vehicle accidents, and their families.

The RAF is responsible for: providing appropriate cover to all road users within the borders of South Africa; rehabilitating and compensating persons injured as a result of motor vehicles in a timely and caring manner; and actively promoting the safe use of all South African roads.

Senior Manager: Procurement Office: T.A.S.K Grade Level 18 (3 Year Fixed Term Contract)

  • Road Accident Fund, Centurion
  • R1 371 054.00 per annum, negotiable.

Reporting to the Finance, the successful incumbent is responsible to manage assigned Procurement projects in order to achieve improved service levels, governance, compliance, cost saving and efficiencies across the department.

In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the in implementing the Procurement strategy, identifying and evolving best practices and transforming the organisation to be driven by excellence.

Officer: Finance Support: TASK Grade Level 10 (12 Months Fixed Term Contract)

The Officer: Finance Support, is responsible to provide regional support by administering claims payments and ensuring an effective system of claims payments function through continuous improvement and resolution of stakeholder queries.

Knowledge of public sector finance is important.

Manager: Strategy, Planning and Reporting: T.A.S.K Grade Level 16

Reporting to the : Strategy and Reporting, the successful incumbent is responsible for the development of organisational strategy and coordination of operational planning to ensure alignment to organisational plans.

Bachelor’s Degree/ Advanced Diploma in Strategy, Planning/ Analysis related qualification. Postgraduate in Strategy, Planning/ analysis related qualification will be advantageous.

Experience in strategy, business performance and reporting or business/ data analysis.

Manager: Strategy Reporting, Monitoring and Evaluation: T.A.S.K Grade Level 16

Relevant 6 – 8 years’ experience in strategy, reporting, monitoring and evaluation environment of which 2 years must have been on a management/ supervisory level/ area of expertise.

Reporting to the : Strategy and Reporting, the successful incumbent is accountable for the monitoring and reporting on RAF’s performance against organisational targets, goals and objectives.

Contribute to the development and implementation of internally developed strategic planning, reporting, monitoring and evaluation policy, procedures and processes.

Keep up-to-date with applicable external policy requirements/ frameworks and practices in execution of strategies, execution of strategy, monitoring and evaluation applicable frameworks.

MANAGER: TESTING AND QUALITY ASSURANCE: T.A.S.K LEVEL 16

Develop communication channels with IT managers to raise the awareness of quality standards to be followed by IT staff.

Reporting to the Digital Transformation, the successful incumbent is accountable to ensure the quality of services provided by It department by conducting tests, establishing processes for formal testing and equality policies and principles.

Plan the activities of the group and get the activities approved by the senior manager.

Knowledge of automated testing tools like Load Runner, HP Quality Centre. * Knowledge of quality standards & policies like CMM & ISO.

MANAGER: ICT RISK AND GOVERNANCE: T.A.S.K LEVEL 16

Reporting to the : Technology, Digital Governance and Risk, the successful incumbent is accountable to support the ICT management in their risk, assurance and compliance objectives.

Maintain a list of all ICT applications and classify them according to risk exposure.

Drive the creation of an understanding of ICT policies, processes, risk and controls’ in line with the RAF’s Policy Framework.

Identifying areas of risk within ICT; To Manage risk and Control

Design, develop and implement the Information Technology (IT) Risk Management Framework that is aligned to the RAF’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.

SENIOR MANAGER: END-USER COMPUTING T.A.S.K LEVEL 18

Reporting to the and Digital, the successful incumbent is accountable to oversee provision of end-user computing services and support to all ICT services users.

The role will serve as the ICT service interface and thus ensure that the maximum value is obtained from the invested ICT systems.

Reporting to the and Digital, the successful incumbent is accountable to ensure the development, implementation, maintenance and governing of the enterprise architecture across the RAF.

In addition, the job incumbent is responsible for defining the Enterprise Architecture process and architecture review process, as well as for leading the integration of those processes with related business and Technology and Digital processes.

Lead the creation and evolution of the enterprise architecture function. * Lead and facilitate the creation of governing principles to Enterprise Architecture decision making.

Ability to lead team through design and delivery of targeted, holistic and sustainable cyber security programmes. Execution of ICT Security Initiatives.

Reporting to the : ICT Cyber Security, the successful incumbent is responsible to protect and maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all data processed on the RAF’s ICT systems and networks .

Draft and maintain supporting documentation for system and application security.

Ensure security incidents/ requests are recorded in the RAF incident management system before attending.

Participate in investigation, analysis and review following any security breach/ incident.

SPECIALIST: CYBER SECURITY AND THREAT MANAGEMENT: T.A.S.K LEVEL 15

Conduct formal information security risk analyses, reviews, tests, audits, and/or self-assessments.

Advise on amended information systems (user requirements, functional and technical design specifications and other project documentation) against approved security policies, standards, process and procedures.

Reporting to the : ICT and Cyber Security, the successful incumbent is responsible for establishing and maintaining confidentiality, integrity and availability of data as well as to enforce security within the ICT and business.

Maintain the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of the RAF Information contained within systems and applications.

Ensure security incidents/requests are recorded in the RAF incident management system.

MANAGER: ACTUARIAL CLAIMS RISK T.A.S.K LEVEL 16

Reporting to the : Quantification and Actuarial Management, the successful incumbent is responsible to manage the provision of Actuarial Claims Risk support and advice to RAF business. 

Provide support to the claims administration team with developing reporting matrices and identifying risk management strategies that can be used in managing claims risks. 

Manage the Assessment/ Monitoring of Calculation Models for “Loss of Earning” and “Loss of Support” Benefits for Motor Vehicles Claims.

SENIOR IT AUDITOR: T.A.S.K LEVEL 14

Address review notes from the IT Audit Manager and capture close-out meeting minutes.

Provide input into the development of the Financial Risk Management business strategy and plan that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives.

Provide input into the development, implementation and annual review of an overall Strategic Plan for the Financial Risk Management department.

Oversee and guide the implementation of the Financial Risk Management plan as approved, including as appropriate any special tasks or projects requested by management.

The Senior Officer: Technology Support is accountable to provide to to ensure that hardware and software allocated to them operates as expected.

Receive calls from /help desk. Verify/identify problems with help desk.

Follow a checklist method to ensure that you do not overlook anything. Research and recommend better ways to reduce IT user problem – Hardware maintenance and Repairs.

Report on uneconomical repairs. Schedule and administer regular maintenance of IT equipment – infrastructure (1st line support).
