Applications are open for the Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine Bursaries 2023 for South African students in financial need.
Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine is offering bursary opportunity to high performing and financially needy students who are currently in Grade 12, 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year of study.
The bursary opportunity is open for South African students who are accepted or registered for an undergraduate qualification at an accredited university.
Preference will be given to applicants staying near or around Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine.
Qualifications
- 60% Average in Grade 12 results
- 60% Average in 1st, 2nd or 3rd year of study in Information Technology
Bursary Will Cover
-Full accommodation (not covered during vacation work)
-Full registration and tuition
-Textbooks
-Learning material and equipment as prescribed by the learning institution
-Monthly allowance
-Relevant work exposure through a structured vacation work at Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine
In return, the beneficiary student must
-Adhere to company’s terms and conditions of the student bursary agreement and fixed-term employment contract
-Ensure consistent high academic and on-the-job performance
-Pass at least 60% average of all subjects / modules to secure continuation of financial assistance in the following academic year’ semester
-Take full ownership of their learning
-Initiate on-the-job development discussions and seek feedback from supervisor or coach
Documents to be Submitted
-Completed application form
-Certified South African Identity Document (SA Citizen)
-Grade 12 or academic record
-Certified – Proof of residence
-Certified – Proof of household income
-Acceptance letter of proof of registration from university

- Electrical Engineering
- Financial Accounting
- Human Resources
