Apply for FASSET Outstanding Study Debt Assistance Grant for 2023

FASSET invites qualifying candidates to apply for the Outstanding Study Debt Assistance Grant for the year 2023.

FASSET is the Sector Education and Training Authority (Seta) for the Finance, Accounting, Management Consulting and Other Financial Services sector.

The Outstanding Study Debt Assistance Grant is designed to alleviate the stress of University debt for completed qualifications in the finance and accounting sector.

Who can Apply?

Learners must currently be employed. Learners must have a qualification within the finance and accounting sector.


Learners with an outstanding loan at NSFAS or higher learning institutions which was used to fund a completed qualification within Finance and Accounting.


Settlement amount is limited to R40 000 per learner.


Priority will be given to applicants with an annual salary threshold of less than R600 000.00.

Approval will be on first come first served basis however priority will be given to learners currently on FASSET learnership or internship programmes

How to Apply

The following mandatory documents should accompany the application form:

  • An official academic transcript or certificate showing successful completion of the qualification must accompany each application.

  • Signed confirmation of employment from employer or contract of employment.

  • A recent copy of the learner’s NSFAS statement or Higher learning institution statements (not older than 30 days on the day of submitting to FASSET) must

  • Certified ID copy

Applications close on 28 February 2023 00:00 midnight or upon the depletion of the Budget.
