The Department of Transport and Public Works in the Western Cape Government has added nine (9) new job vacancies to be based in Cape Town CBD.

Here are the available jobs in the department:

Quantity Surveyor (Production Level): General Infrastructure – Technical Services (2 Posts Available), Ref No. TPW 215/2022

Purpose:

The Department of Transport and Public Works , Western Cape Government has oppertunitues for two (2) suitably qualified and competent Professional Quantity Surveyors to manage all aspects of the sub programme for financial management and the implementation of projects in line with the WCG values.

These posts are based in Cape Town, CBD.

Minimum requirements:

An appropriate Degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant qualification; A minimum of 3 years post qualification Quantity Surveying experience;

Compulsory registration with SACQSP as a Professional Quantity Surveyor; A valid code B (or higher) driving license. VIEW MORE DETAILS.

Accounting Clerk: Financial Accounting (3 Posts available), Ref No. TPW 217/2022

Purpose:

The Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government has opportunity for three (3) competent individuals to provide an effective and efficient payment system in respect of purchases, payables, transfers and donations.

These posts are based in Cape Town, CBD.

Minimum requirements:

Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification) with Accounting and/or mathematics as passed subjects. VIEW MORE DETAILS.

Operator (Machine): Technical Services (2 posts available), Ref No. TPW 184/2022

Purpose:

The Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for two (2) dynamic individuals to render administrative and financial support to the Chief directorate: General Infrastructure.

Minimum requirements:

Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification); A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.

Programme Manager (Chief Engineer/ Chief Architect/ Chief Quantity Surveyor/ Chief Construction Project Manager) – Health Infrastructure, Ref. No. TPW 214/2022

Purpose:

The Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to manage all aspects of the sub-programme for management and implementation of capital and maintenance health infrastructure projects for a defined region set in line with fhe Western Cape Government values.

Minimu requirements:

Engineering Degree (B Eng/ BSC (Eng) or relevant qualification; A minimum of 6 years post qualification engineering experience; Compulsory registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer; A valid driving licence.

Or B-Degree in Architecture or relevant qualification; A minimum of 6 years post qualification architectural experience; Compulsory registration with SACAP as a professional Architect; A valid driving licence.

Or Degree in Quantity Survey or relevant Qualification; A minimum of 6 years post qualification Quantity Surveying experience; Compulsory registration with SACQSP as a professional Quantity Surveyor; A valid driving licence.

Or BTech or higher qualification (Built Environment field); A minimum of 6 years’ experience as a registered Professional Construction Project Manager with the SACPCMP; Compulsory registration with the SACPCMP as a Professional Construction Project Manager; A valid driving licence. Engineering Technologist (Production Level): Systems, Ref No. TPW 56/2022 R1

Purpose:

The Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for suitably qualified and competent Engineering Technologists to provide technical advice and support by applying engineering principles and techniques to address engineering challenges for Road Systems.

The successful incumbents will be required to deliver, oversee and assist in quality assurance of system, data gathering/ capturing and other system operational tasks for the provincial road network.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor of Technology in Engineering (B Tech) or relevant qualification; A minimum of 3 years post qualification Engineering Technologist experience required; A valid code B driving licence; Compulsory registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineering Technologist.

Or have submitted with ECSA for Professional registration as a Professional Engineering Technologist. (proof of payment to be submitted with application) and compulsory registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineering Technologist will then be applicable within 6 months from appointment.
