Woolworths South Africa Trainee Programme 2023
This unique programme is designed and facilitated by Woolworths and our specialist teams to provide you with a ‘learning by doing’ experience spanning 12 to 18 months, immersing you in our Fashion, Beauty and Home business.
You’ll get to:
- Work and learn about our proudly South African private label brand, gaining exposure across the entire value chain.
- Train and upskill across the full retail and product development process to set you up for success before specialising.
- Be mentored and supported by our senior leaders, with regular check-ins, evaluations and valuable feedback.
Buying
Ever wonder how fashion retailers choose the products they sell? Are you curious about what it means to be customer obsessed?
Are you creative and considered, skilled in relationship building, planning, and implementing?
Backed by your retail experience with a degree or diploma in fashion, retail or interior design, buying may
be the perfect role for you.
Designing
Our designers stay on top of international trends, from catwalk to street style, and interpret them for the
South African market.
They continuously design and develop storyboards, themes and sketches of new designs, and review fabric and colour options to reflect newness for each season.
To be a fashion designer at Woolworths, you’ll need a relevant design diploma or degree.
Technology
As a technologist at Woolworths, you must have a passion for how things are made with a desire to craft and create beautiful products, collaborating with our suppliers and key partners to improve processes.
You’ll need a relevant diploma or degree in garment, textile or pattern making, technology/commercial studies to apply.
Planning
Do you love numbers, forecasting, models, problem solving, and have a passion for retail?
As a planner at Woolworths, you must get the right mix and volume of product to the right store for the right customer at the right time – working with our buyers to apply your analytical skills.
